“He loves me; he loves me not. He loves me; he loves me not.” As we pull the petals from a flower, we repeat with smiles and frowns these common words. Although I mostly recited this as a child, as I grew older, I said the words and pulled the petals from within my heart. We all crave love, acceptance, and kindness. This is because our creator, God of the Universe, gave each of us this desire. The desire comes from deep within and can only be fulfilled by God Himself. No one on earth can truly fill the void.
From the little girl who wanted a fairy-tale ending, I married when I was young because I wanted to be a wife and mother. Even though God gave me clear warning not to marry, I chose unwisely. After three years I knew for sure I was holding the petal, “He loves me not.” Oh, the pain I felt! I poured my heart and life into someone who didn’t want me. As my healing journey began, I learned how much God loves ME!!! It was in my darkest hour and through brokenness I received this revelation. It was God’s love that could fill the void in me. People in life will let you down, but God never will.
The daisy is my favorite flower and God used this flower to begin a journey of healing. One filled with hope, love, friendship, and grace. Now when I look at a daisy, I say (smiling), “He loves me!” I encourage you to know how much God truly loves you, and He has an amazing plan for your life!
Seven years after my divorce, I met the man of my dreams. He completely loves and adores me and treats me like a princess. We met at a ballroom dance and I can literally say, “He swept me off my feet.” Your time is coming. Whatever you are believing for—a breakthrough in your marriage or with your children, a new job, better health or finances—I encourage you to hold on and know there is hope and healing ahead.
